August 2, 2022 – It was recently announced that the U.S. Senate voted to pass the Camp Lejeune Justice Act. This law will allow any person who was injured, made sick, or die due to exposure to the contaminated drinking water at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps base.
President Biden is expected to sign this bill into law very soon.
During the years 1953 and 1987, over 1 million people lived or worked at the U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. And of course, while they lived there, they drank and bathed in the water that flowed into their homes. Just like we all do because we all assume our water is safe.
But the water at Camp Lejeune was not safe. It was causing cancers, miscarriages, nerve disorders, and death. We now know that senior military leaders knew there was a problem and chose to cover it up.
McEwen Law Firm—who has been handling defective product, toxic exposure, and other serious cases for 50+ years—is pursuing claims on behalf of anyone that lived, worked, or served at Camp Lejeune.
In order to qualify, you must have:
- Been living or working at Camp Lejeune between 1953 and 1987.
- Must have been at CJ for at least 30 days.
- And you must have suffered an injury or death.
The most common injuries and illnesses caused by the contaminated drinking water at Camp Lejeune are:
- Cancer
- Miscarriages

- Neurological defects, such as Parkinson’s disease, ALS, and others
- Other similar injuries
- And premature death
